# Image Credits — تراث فلسطين | Turath Palestine

This file documents every image used by the site. There are three groups:

1. **Documented Wikimedia Commons photos** (free licenses, attribution preserved).
2. **Product images derived from those Wikimedia photos** (same author/license).
3. **Project-owner provided images** whose source/license still needs to be confirmed.

No copyrighted store/Etsy/Amazon product photography is knowingly used. The
files named like `s-l400.jpg`, `41fH1vM-MTL...`, `61TzMo0aZiL.jpg`, `images.jpg`,
etc. were supplied by the project owner and are flagged below as
**source/license to confirm** until proper attribution is verified.

Images were re-compressed locally (Pillow): product/category images ≤ 1000px on
the long edge, every file under ~300 KB, saved as progressive JPEG.

For **CC BY** / **CC BY-SA** images you must credit the author and link the
license; for **SA** licenses, derivatives must be shared under the same license.
**CC0** images need no attribution (credited here as a courtesy).

## 2. Product images derived from the documented Wikimedia photos above

These product files are copies of the category photos in section 1, so they
inherit the **same author and license** shown there.

> Note on `product-zaatar.jpg`: the owner-supplied `download.jpg` was very low
> resolution (~4 KB), so per the project brief this product uses `cat-food.jpg`
> (documented za'atar photo) instead.

## 3. Project-owner provided images — source/license to confirm

These files were provided by the project owner and **do not yet have a verified
source link or license**. They must be confirmed (or replaced with freely-licensed
alternatives) before any public/commercial use. They are **not** claimed to be
Wikimedia or Creative Commons.

## Notes

- `cat-thobe.jpg` (an embroidered Palestinian dress) is used for the
  "هدايا تراثية / heritage gifts" category, since the site has no dedicated thobe category.
- `brand-mark.png` is an original tatreez-style star mark generated for this site,
  so it carries no third-party licensing obligations.
- No copyrighted store/Etsy product photography was used. Any image whose origin
  could not be verified is listed in section 3 as "source/license to confirm".
